Each month waterfront galleries, museum and stores come together with local artists to celebrate creativity, giving you the perfect excuse to stroll the Harbor on a Saturday afternoon. Come down for ArtWalk on July 6th and pack a picnic or stop for refreshments - here's a quick link to our list of local spots that will quench your thirst.
Mollie Marigold, artist, illustrator, and MSW, will be returning to Harbornest to share her story and her artwork from 11 to 3 on July 6. Through her training as a social worker, Mollie has learned the role that art can play in healing and providing a positive outlet for people to express themselves.
Cathie Johnson generally paints in the impressionistic style and she particularly enjoys combining colors on the paper then refining and glazing over this initial layer of color to create a finished artwork. Watch Cathie demonstrate some of these watercolor techniques Saturday, July 6 from 1 to 3pm.
Suzie Cowan will be exhibiting her show, Salish Sea, in June and July at Harbor History Museum. On July 6th at 11:30 Susie will lead a workshop and discuss her work and process. Children will have the opportunity to create their own sea life collage greeting cards using her hand-made marbled paper.
Katie Niles, a fabulous, local, fuse glass artist will be at the Woodstock Gift Gallery throughout the afternoon on July 6th. See her creative, multicolored, "For the Love of Glass" yard art pieces on display and discounted 10% just for ArtWalk.
Lella Hamilton, an abstract painter, will be showcasing her work through the month of July and Mavi will host an opening celebrating Lella’s exhibition on Saturday, July 6, from 1 to 3pm. https://mavigallery.com/
Waters Edge Gallery and Framery will offer 20% discount on all framing projects ALL DAY on Saturday, July 6.
The Gig Harbor Comprehensive Plan is a plan for our community's future. Every ten years, the City comes together to update this important document to guide the vision and growth for Gig Harbor over the next 20 years. The 2023-2024 update cycle will also include an update to the transportation plan and a new climate action element.
