August 16th, 2025

An established Gig Harbor tradition, Chalk the Harbor is a one day, free, family-friendly community event where participants transform the sidewalks of Harborview Drive into chalk creations of all shapes, sizes and skill levels.

This year, Chalk the Harbor will build on its street chalking foundation and expand into a celebration of art and community In addition to chalking, the event will feature live art demonstrations, local artist showcases, and hands-on opportunities for attendees to get creative and interact with art in their own way.

Why, you ask? Our goal is to create a more diverse and interactive experience, fostering greater community involvement, creativity, and appreciation for the arts while celebrating local culture and history.

CALL FOR ARTISTS!

The Gig Harbor Waterfront Alliance invites local artists to join us in a celebration of art and community at the annual 2025 Chalk the Harbor. Interactive and engaging artist demonstrations and showcases will be thoughtfully placed inside local businesses and in outdoor, public areas throughout the Waterfront Business District. This is a free, public event attracting thousands of residents and visitors. Participating artists will promote and sell their work while engaging in casual interactions with attendees and demonstrating their techniques.
